We have 11 clinics located throughout the River Region, 2 mobile clinics, and 4 school-based clinics in partnership with Montgomery Public Schools.
HSI is looking for a Certified Medical Assistant to join our team in Clanton, AL. Our CMAs are an integral part of our team, providing clinical and clerical support to our Providers and patients.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
1. Has completed and demonstrates competency and the required abilities on the Nursing Competency Summary Sheet and Unit Orientation Checklist.
2. Prepares patients and assists the providers with examinations, working within the parameters of his/her preparation.
3. Works and assists with patients according to approved HSI protocol.
4. Is able to do all special medical procedures related to the unit, as indicated on the competency sheet. (Injections may be given under select circumstances, training, and certification.)
5. Provides complete provider assistance, specialized treatments and patient referrals as assigned.
6. Documents return patient visits on the computer.
7. Maintains confidentiality, and accurate documentation and reporting, including assigned logs and tracking.
8. Provides patient education and assists other support personnel in patient education.
9. Assures all encounters are completed correctly and returned to the designated patient or location.
10. Daily stocks and cleans assigned patient treatment rooms, nurses' station, and other assigned areas.
11. Participates in team meetings, sharing ideas among team members.
12. Identifies and utilizes appropriate channels of communication.
13. Assists In the orientation of new personnel and students, as requested.
14. Works evening clinic and rotates to other clinical sites as assigned by the DON or charge RN Coordinator.
15. Performs other related duties as assigned.
16. Supports and enforces infection-control policies and procedures, with special attention to handwashing.
17. Ensures an appropriate environment for the administration of healthcare by keeping exam areas and all equipment, in a clean, safe, and orderly fashion.
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
1. Completion the Medical Assistant program with certification in giving of injections.
2. BLS/CPR certification.
3. One (1) year previous work experience in clinical setting preferred.

Pay: $27,000.00 - $999,999.00 per year
