Title: Manager, IT Project
Under general supervision, plans and manages a variety of technology projects; communicates the plan to the district stakeholders, the vendor, and the project team; prepares itemized cost centers and purchase order requests; oversees project implementation processes and maintains documentation on all project details.
Essential Functions:

• Manages all phases of multiple technology projects from Initiation through Closing by effectively applying standard project management processes, procedures and methodologies as designed by the PMO
• Identifies resources and assigns individual responsibilities; provides necessary training as needed
• Prepares budgets and makes recommendations as needed; manages project budget through constant communication with the Budget Specialist to ensure the project is always within budget
• Manages day-to-day operational aspects of a project based on scope
• Manages the vendor management process from acquiring quotes to managing the schedule to managing daily project onsite work
• Prepares and reviews project deliverables with team before passing on to project sponsor
• Minimizes risk through frequent reviews, testing and quality assurance procedures
• Ensures project documents are complete, current and stored appropriately
• Trains and manages the work of entry-level project managers as required
• Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree from a Professional Standards Commission approved accredited college or university in Business, Project Management, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related area is required.
Minimum three (3) years of experience in information technology project development, implementation, and management is required.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, PERMITS: Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), Project Management Professional (PMP), or closely related certification approved by PMI is preferred.
