Title: Technician II, Fire Alarm
Under general supervision, performs functional testing, installation, repair, service, programming, and maintenance tasks on a variety of Fire Alarm systems and equipment.
Essential Functions:
The following duties are representative for this position. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.
• Performs installation, programming, repair, testing, and inspection of fire detection and signaling systems on a scheduled basis.
• Renders all services in accordance with manufacturer instructions, related codes/standard and district policies and procedures.
• Prepare daily reports of discrepancies, necessary system repairs and other important issues for supervisor.
• Responds to emergency calls to help resolve any Fire Alarm issues.
• Lays out, assembles, installs, tests, maintains, services and repairs such items as meters, panels control boards, Fire Alarm parts and systems.
• Installs/modifies interior and exterior wiring for equipment related to Fire Alarm systems.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
• High School Diploma or GED required. Minimum of three (3) years journey level electrical system installation, modification, maintenance or closely related experience required.
• Valid Georgia Driver's License required.
• Valid Commercial Driver's License - Class B with air brake endorsement preferred.
