FIP021 - ACCOUNTANT 2JOB SUMMARY:Under general supervision, analyzes financial information and prepares financial reports to document or maintain records of assets, liabilities, profit and loss or other financial activities within an agency. Evaluates, audits and maintains accounts and transaction processing to ensure GAAP compliance.JOB SPECIFIC DUTIES: Maintains comprehensive knowledge of State Accounting Office (SAO) policies and procedures for assigned area Ensures that duties are performed in accordance with established internal controls and guidelines Develops, maintains and prepares periodic reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs. Perform Monthly Bank Reconciliations for multiple accounts Assist with Monthly Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Asset Management, Payroll, Concur Travel reconciliations Enters journal entries Ensure that all entries are processed timely and accurately in the financial system Maintains records, files and documentation related to accounting process. Participates in compilation of data and prepares standard accounting reports Assist with monthly, quarterly and year-end closing activities Provides support to auditors, reviewers, and identifies and corrects any problem revealed in reviews or audits Serves as liaison in responding to inquiries to solve routine accounting problem or for information/interpretation from third parties such as DJJ Facilities, other internal divisions, other agencies or banks.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Master's degree in accounting from an accredited college or university OR Bachelor's degree in accounting from an accredited college or university AND One year of professional accounting experience OR Bachelor's degree in a business curriculum which included completion of introductory and intermediate accounting sequence from an accredited college or university AND One year of professional accounting experience.
