Position Overview
This CICCS2 System Administrator provides support to all aspects of computer systems, running on platforms such as Microsoft, Linux and Unix. Their responsibility is to ensure that the software, and a network of the systems work optimally and securely. This System Administrator also resolves issues related to systems to improve their performance and creates and documents visual descriptions of systems and their inputs and outputs.
Primary Responsibilities
Typical Duties Include:
- System Administrator evaluate modified systems to ensure that they meet the standards of our organization. System Administrator need to understand the needs of the end-users and offer them technical support. They should evaluate problems with major systems, such as VMware, Cisco, Servers, configurations, storage, etc.
- Engineers deploy out to customer sites and upgrade systems to support new capabilities.
- Engineers maintain a documentation cadence that supports the technical specifications of hardware upgrade programs.
Minimum Qualifications
- DoD IAT Level II or higher. (ex. MCSA, MCSE, Red Hat, VCP, CompTIA Linux +, CompTIA Security +.
- Installing/Provisioning/Troubleshooting Enterprise systems.
- Integration of COTS/GOTS/FOSS hardware and software into existing infrastructures
- Complete documentation, drawings, and instructions for customers.
Preferred Qualifications
- Significant relevant experience in supporting the sustainment of NISSC mission systems/subsystems.
- Experience working in data center, server rooms and/or data processing center.
- Significant experience in installing, configuring and troubleshooting enterprise systems.
- Able to work on physically demanding projects that requires lifting, bending and standing for a large amount of time.
