The Category Manager (CM) will manage the P&L for multiple categories, select assortment for digital and physical shelves, plan and execute promotional strategies, and set the strategic direction for their business. The ideal candidate is a self-starter that proactively looks for opportunities to improve their business and deliver more for customers. They stay on top of industry and competitive trends, leverage customer insights, and execute at both a tactical and strategic level. Exceptional communication and organizational skills are musts.
Key job responsibilities
- Manage a full P&L across multiple categories
- Select the assortment for Fresh's digital and physical shelves for multiple categories, making sure to optimize sales and profitability
- Develop the category strategies for their business by digging deep into industry, internal, and customer data to identify opportunities for growth
- Identify industry trends and develop innovative marketing and merchandising initiatives to support growth
- Own the promotional strategy and planning across all channels including identifying key events and time periods to target, selecting the assortment, determining the deal price, communicating plans to cross-functional partners, and reporting out on results
- Resolve defects that may be blocking intended assortment from being shoppable to customers
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams that support business needs, including marketing, merchandising, in-stock, and central support teams to ensure flawless execution

- Experience with SQL
- Experience in grocery retail and knowledge of Nielsen, IRI, or Mintel to conduct market research is a plus
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $47,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $103,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
