The Cash Accountant will join our Cash Operations team and will be responsible for managing all (cash) bank account reconciliations across the organization. This would involve daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations of various accounts, depending on size and risk. Investigate and reconcile complex transactions and/or discrepancies that may arise, working cross-functionally to ensure all transactions are properly accounted for. This position will be responsible for following up on all unreconciled transactions continuously and providing updates to the management or other departments to provide necessary information.
The Cash Operations team is a critical component of the overall operations at Ren, ensuring all funds are properly recorded and accounted for. Ren is entrusted with over $20B of assets under administration, most of which is cash at some point in its life cycle. Therefore, the Cash Accountant role is a key role to ensure all cash is properly reconciled. The ideal Cash Accountant is a highly motivated professional with strong technical skills, high level of critical thinking as well as strong attention to detail in order to accurately reconcile cash across the Company. As the Company continues to grow, we will look to further develop this role to meet the growing responsibilities on the Cash Operations team.
- Manage bank reconciliations for all cash accounts for the organization
- Reconcile bank balances to book balances
- Review bank reconciliations from external teams, to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Analyze account information and oversee bank charges
- Open to feedback, learning new things as well as growth and development
- Be an integral player in identifying areas for continuous improvement to help make our department and Company run smoother and more efficiently
- In addition to the above duties, this position will be required to perform other duties in Cash Operations as requested, directed or assigned
- Knowledge of banking functions and operations as well as treasury management software
- Understanding of bank reconciliation process and reports
- Understanding of entries in the Bank vs the subsystems and their impact on the reconciliation process
- Ability to analyze differences, perform investigations and summarize results for reconciling items
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or a related field preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience within an accounting, treasury, or banking role
