- Assist the Director of Career Services in implementing Career Services department objectives and achieving goals.
- Assists graduates in their career search by working with the graduates on resume development, interviews training, job search techniques, career-coaching, forwarding applications and accepting employment offers.
- Presents guest lectures to undergraduate and graduate-level courses.
- Maintains accurate records and assists in preparing monthly, annual and other reports as requested by the Director.
- Cultivates and maintains prospective employer relationships in order to ensure a high graduate employment percentage as measured by Sullivan University and as required by accrediting bodies.
- Builds effective relationships with employers to identify employment opportunities and to promote the future uses of the department’s services.
- Assists the Director with planning and conducting graduation confirmation events, career fairs and participates in any corporate-wide career functions.
- Solicits job leads for graduates by phone, email and face-to-face site visits.
- Effectively conduct employer presentations of services provided to them by department on and off-site locations.
- Ensures up-to-date maintenance of Career Services database/reporting systems and documentation of records in accordance with Sullivan University policies.
- Aids in the updating and maintenance of statistics on all graduates and alumni, hard-copy and electronic files, for the Career Services office.
- Participates in campus events (i.e. graduation, orientation, etc.) as needed.
- Attends Advisory Board meetings as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree required.
- Minimum of two years of experience relating to recruiting, resume writing, and interviewing required.
- Experience preparing and giving formal presentations.
- An equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office software and other related programs and technology.
- Knowledge of campus management software, or similar databases.
- Ability to develop and maintain relationships with business and individuals in the community who are prospective employers for graduates.
- Ability to maintain a valid driver’s license, satisfactory driving record, and transportation and be willing to travel as needed.
- Must be able to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to hear and speak well enough to communicate with businesses, students, faculty, and staff face to face and via the telephone.
- Must be able to move or lift objects up to twenty-five pounds in preparation for an event or meeting.
