The International Monetary Fund has an immediate opening for a Capacity Development Officer to support its online learning program. The IMF provides training to member country officials on topics spanning from macroeconomic analysis to monetary and fiscal policy, macro-financial linkages, balance of payments issues, financial markets and institutions, as well as statistical and legal frameworks in these areas. The IMF’s online program aims at expanding the volume of training to member country officials through online courses and other online learning modalities.

Under the general supervision of the ICDIP management, the e-Learning Multimedia Producer will oversee the pre-production, production and post-production of multimedia assets for online learning. As part of IMF’s online learning team, the selected candidate will work with team members and vendors to supervise the delivery of multimedia products, ensuring compliance with the quality and branding requirements of the IMF.

The e-Learning Multimedia Producer will have the following main duties and responsibilities:

  • Oversee the creation and production of multimedia content, including videos, graphics, podcasts, and interactive content, for ICD's Online Learning Program.
  • Manage production process, including scripts, storyboards, studio sessions, video editing, graphic design, and audio.
  • Maintain production schedule and budget for the creation of multimedia content.
  • Manage external production vendors, including working with IMF's Procurement Services Team regarding all related contracting and procurement.
  • Facilitate the multimedia approval process, liaising with vendors, instructors, and instructional designers on video production, post-production, and graphic design.
  • Supervise the video editing and graphic design process to ensure that multimedia content aligns with IMF overall style and branding guidelines, as well as maintaining a high standard of quality.
  • Manage studio production, including scheduling. Ensure that technical and quality specifications are met. Provide guidance to on-camera instructors.
  • Work closely with collaborators - colleagues, vendors, SMEs - to facilitate the creation and production of e-learning promotional materials.
  • Work with Creative Service's media archivist on the cataloguing and storage of multimedia assets in the IMF's Media Asset Management (MAM) system.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    The candidate should have:

    • An advanced university degree in film production, communications, or a bachelor’s degree in a related field supplemented by a minimum of six years of professional work experience, including a minimum of two years’ experience with online course design.
    • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills, including flexibility in working with different stakeholders; initiative and acute attention to detail; ability to establish priorities, meet deadlines, and manage multiple tasks effectively; ability to work under pressure both autonomously and in a team environment.
    • Experience as a multimedia producer, coordinating overall multimedia production, including graphic design elements, video and audio production, and web development.
    • The successful candidate must demonstrate strong project management skills; the ability to collaborate effectively with subject matter experts; knowledge of best practices in online pedagogy and educational products; and interest in utilizing innovative approaches. Experience with online course platforms would be a strong plus.

      This vacancy shall be filled by a 3-year Term appointment in accordance with the Fund’s new employment rules that took effect on May 1, 2015.

      A regular staff member who is selected to fill the vacancy will maintain their open-ended status. If the selected candidate is a contractual employee, they will be offered a Term staff appointment. Staff members already on a term appointment will continue their current term but may receive an extension provided that their current term appointment has not already been extended.
