Campus Applications and Integration Developer Lead
(Analyst/Programmer - Expert)
Compensation and Benefits
Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $7,167 - $8,200 per month
Full CSU Classification Salary Range: $6,686 - $12,947 per month
- This is a full-time, probationary, exempt position.
The CSU system provides a comprehensive benefit package that includes medical, dental and vision plans, membership in the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS), sick and vacation time, and 14 paid holidays a year. Job Summary
Under the general direction of the Director of Digital Transformation, the Analyst/Programmer-Expert develops specifications, performs system design, and develops complex application programs and troubleshoots the application. Implements and documents complex application programs based on the policies and procedures in the Campus Applications. Works in a team of technical staff that develops and maintains the University's academic and administrative application services and enterprise integration infrastructure.
Leads and provides technical subject matter expertise on development of technical projects; specifically, the campus application Frontend/Backend development and maintenance, database design, and implementation of API's to access data from multiple campus systems and external sources for use by the Digital Transformation team and other campus entities in support of University's Web CMS, Mobile Platform, Digital Imaging and Content Management system, Forms and Workflow Automation, eSignature, Integration Platform and related systems.
The incumbent is also responsible for performing lead duties and providing supervisory oversight for the web/mobile development and data integration team. This requires task assignment/delegation, monitoring work, code review, leading team meetings/planning, and other similar team coordination. The incumbent utilizes strong organizational and communication skills. Occasionally will present written/oral reports to committees and administrators.
This position may be assigned a variety of other tasks including documentation, application configuration, quality assurance testing, and conducting research to resolve complex computing problems.
Key Qualifications
- Understanding of business and technical workflows.
- Strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle and Object-Oriented programming.
- Ability to investigate and research new systems and technologies and develop complex information technology systems and solutions.
- Strong understanding of relational databases (SQL) and NoSQL databases.
- Designing and building application integrations with programming in NodeJS/Typescript, PowerShell, Groovy, Java, C#, and other scripting languages.
- Strong understanding in web programming, data integration; experience with:
- JSON, XML, CSV, and other flat file integrations.
- HTML, CSS, Javascript, and AJAX.
- Knowledge of web technologies including HTTP, web security, authentication/authorization protocols, and REST/SOAP APIs.
- Ability to:
- Document solutions, software requirements.
- Maintain consistent communication with management of project schedules.
- Perform systems and applications needs analysis, prepare requests for proposals, and conduct feasibility studies.
- Ability to teach and transfer knowledge and skills to others.
- Excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.

Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, business information systems, or related technical discipline.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience with OnBase application development and support.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience working in higher education.
- A minimum of 5 years of programming experience in C#, Java, Python, and Node.JS.
- Experience collecting user requirements, performing systems analysis, designing an appropriate solution, and estimating time and resources required to complete.
- Experience with Agile methodology.
- Specialized Skills:
- Knowledge and experience in using configurable integration tools, e.g. Boomi, etc.
- Knowledge and experience in Forms/Workflow development, e.g. Kuali Build.
- Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge and experience in OnBase application administration.
- Being comfortable discussing design and technical issues with Technical Staff and Campus clients.
- Professional, logical, and highly motivated approach to work problems.
- Customer satisfaction oriented.
- Ability to:
