Medical Call Center Triage Assistant
Full-time position
Under the direction of the Call Center Supervisor and as a member of the Clinical team, the Clinical Triage Assistant will be working in a Call Center environment providing telephonic and clerical support for the Clinical Department as well as general support for other clinical activities on an as-needed basis. The position is considered a crucial link between the patient and the care delivered by clinical and service staff of the center. The assistant must work collaboratively with all Clinical services staff in support of direct patient services, exhibiting flexibility and a “can do” attitude. Patient services are the key priority in this position requiring the Clinical Triage Assistant to serve as a point of contact with other internal and external departments, all with the goal of fostering an environment that promotes patient comfort and trust. The position must exemplify the mission of Atlanta Diabetes Associates, consistently exercising utmost discretion, diplomacy, and tact in patient/staff interactions.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Certified Medical Assistant - preferred
Prior Authorization Experience- preferred
EMR Experience- preferred
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Required abilities and dispositions:
- High personal motivation, self-management, and detail orientation; ability to take responsibility for meeting deadlines and making progress without direct supervision.
- Strong spoken and written communication skills.
- Capacity and will to learn new software, research methods, and work routines quickly; flexibility in responding to new research opportunities as they arise.
- Motivation to engage in and manage a wide range of intellectual and physical work, ranging from preparing mass mailings to analyzing proposed data-collection designs.
- Existing solid computer skills with Microsoft Office statistical software and general Internet and electronic communications.
- Articulate and tactful communications skills; readiness to meet and work directly with clients.
Typical duties include, but are not limited to, conducting refill requests, providing telephone support for general patient inquiries, providing back up to prior authorization department, and providing clerical support and administrative assistance as directed (e.g. faxing, scanning, scheduling patient appointments and assisting with all other office task as necessary).
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is performed in an office, laboratory, and/or clinic environment. This is a full-time position and full-time is defined as 40 hours per work week.
