CAD Designing Drafter (Contractor to Hire) Job Responsibilities:
- Use Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and ASME Y14 for required work.
- Drawings to meet tolerance expectations and ensure parts are fit per customer installations.
- 2D and 3D detailing for large-sized manufactured parts and assemblies.
- 2D drawings for fabricated / manufactured / machined components.
- Work to draft detailed designs and fabrication drawings for welding fixtures and jigs.
- Fulfill contractual obligations, project schedules, and meet deadlines.
- Collaborate with Department teams and Business partners throughout every phase.
- Check designs and drafting work for Project Engineer's approval and ensure requirements are met.
- Work with Senior Mechanical Designers for every phase of the work project.
- Create drawings and plan arrangements for final reviews and sections.
Everything you'll receive as the CAD Designing Drafter:
- Job Type: Contractor to Direct Hire
- Compensation: $30 - 31+/HR (Depending on work experience)
- Location: Onsite in Buffalo, NY
- Work Schedule: 40-Hour work week / Monday – Friday
- Available Shift: 1st Shift (A)
Required Work Skills and Qualifications:
- AS degree in Engineering studies
- 1 - 2 years' experience as a Designing Drafter in an industrial setting
- 1 year experience with Geometric Dimensioning, Tolerancing, and ASME Y14
- CAD software, ie: Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD Mechanical, Mechanical Desktop, or similar programs
- Product Data Management software, ie: Autodesk Vault, Solidworks PDM
Preferred Work Skills and Qualifications:
- BS degree in Engineering studies
- 3 years of Designing Drafter experience in a manufacturing setting
- 3 years of Geometric Dimensioning, Tolerancing, ASME Y14
