Requirements
Responsibilities
- Create machinery (CNC & Saw) programs and any other relevant construction documents for custom millwork and casework using AutoCAD, Microvellum.
- We are willing to train you to our standards but you MUST be experienced in using AutoCad.
- Microsoft Excel skills is a must.
- Visit job sites to gather field dimensions and ensure that designs fit the space allotted through accurate measurements. While at sites you will also identify any accessibility restrictions such as elevators, doorways, or stairs and incorporate them into your designs to ensure deliverability and buildability.
- Ensure "As-Built drawings" matches construction plan
- Collaborate with project managers to ensure design intent and project goals are met.
- Flag areas of concern regarding design or functionality, provide input for approval of drawings, and work with designers, PMs, and general contractors to resolve concerns
- Ensure project schedules, deadlines, and budgets are met.
- Communicate with the manufacturing team to ensure that production requirements are clearly understood.
- Identify and utilize the most efficient and practical method for fabrication and installation of designs; standardize whenever possible
- Assist in the development and maintenance of the company's engineering standards.
- And other duties / responsibilities as assigned based on the needs of the company
Key Results
- Machine programs are accurate and need no rework at the shop floor
- Work orders are processed on time and under budget
- The shop floor trusts the information coming from the engineer
This position will require a daily presence at one of our Nassau County - NY (Long Island) millwork fabrication facilities: New Hyde Park-NY, Syosset-NY or Westbury-NY
Salary Description
$25 - $40/hr
