Entry Level Architectural/Engineering Designer/Drafter
Principle Design Engineering, PLLC is a small design firm in Norwich, NY, specializing in design, architectural and engineering. Our firm works for both municipal and private clients across the central/upstate New York area providing:
- Design, Architectural and Engineering of new buildings, renovations, additions and alterations
- Mechanical Engineering – HVAC, electrical, lighting and plumbing design
- Civil Engineering – roadways, bridges, water, sewer, utilities and site development
Principle is looking for a full-time/part-time Designer/Drafter with adaptability and eagerness to learn. The candidate should be motivated, creative, and adaptable to a multitude of projects and skills; professionalism, personability and service-oriented a must. The successful candidate should have a high-degree of proficiency in CAD and rendering/modeling software with the ability to learn additional programs or software.
This position is located in our Norwich, NY office and work is typically within a 100-mile radius.
Principle has been involved in countless locally recognized and well-known design projects, specializing in unique, thought-provoking and innovative designs.
Responsibilities:
- Measuring existing buildings and generating floor plans.
- Producing schematic designs and construction documents in CAD.
- Producing 3D renderings.
- Developing working knowledge of building codes, standards and references.
- Increasing knowledge of residential and light commercial construction materials and methods.
- On-site observation of construction phase for select projects.
- Working directly with the architect-engineer and client designing residential and commercial
- Qualifications:
- AAS Degree or BS or equivalent experience in
- Architectural- Civil Engineering- Interior Design
- Experience with the following programs:
- AutoCAD- Design CAD- SketchUp- Revit or similar programs- Microsoft Office SuiteCompany's website:

Pay: $17.00 - $27.52 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
