Job Description
The Business Development Manager (BDM) for Southern Texas Region (Austin, San Antonio, College Station & Houston) will lead the marketing, Business Development, and sales efforts in their assigned region, and the acquisition of new Single-Family and Multi-Family clients within their region. This self-starter will have previous sales experience, and ideally have a background in selling to the residential building industry or new home real estate, able to understand prospect needs and build productive relationships. Business Development Managers have regular contact with all levels of leadership and external field staff, and third-party partners. This role also involves regular contact with company clients and vendors. This role will require regular travel through the BDM’s assigned region of Southern Texas Region (Austin & Houston).
- Bachelor's Degree or similar work experience
- Experience in the Home Construction Markets is preferred
- Proven ability to demonstrate a drive for results and accountability
- Interpersonal skills to influence and spur change, facilitate, and enhance performance within a cross functional environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Experience working with a CRM platform and committed to using it.
- Demonstrate exceptional time management skills.
- Passionate about continuous learning & growing the business.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Willing to travel.
Reports To: CEO or Director of Business Development.
- Willing to continuously prospect in person, through calls and emails, to generate leads.
- Identify and develop relationships with industry professionals to generate new business opportunities.
- Attend trade shows, HBA events, and other networking events during the day, evenings and potentially weekends.
- Demonstrate a complete knowledge of the company, its values and growth philosophy as well as the residential construction industry.
- Follow up on company and industry supplied leads.
- Full responsibility for developing and maintain a robust individual sales pipeline from lead generation through won/lost close.
- Maintain and update CRM activity for assigned region and provide regular updates to company leadership as requested.
- Have a sound understanding of market intelligence for assigned region and provide insights and feedback to company leadership.
- As requested, stay engaged with closed business to help ensure client success.
- Additional duties as determined by leadership to help drive sales success for the BDM and company.
