The Sr Business Development Manager is responsible for coordination between the Retail Marketing teams and Chewy customer team. The primary objective of this role is to coordinate and translate brand strategies into maximizing sales results, market share, incremental households, and financial return. This resource understands both Brand and CDO aspects of the Chewy eCommerce retail environment to facilitate and evolve customer strategy. The BDM leads and supports activities in commercial planning and monitoring.
What You Will Do:

  • In coordination with Retail Marketing, develops annual strategic eCom growth plans & channel initiatives to achieve Hill's commercial goals
  • Collaborates with Retail Marketing & Finance to develop Hill's eCom retail environment strategies that derive from Brand Growth Plans & align with investment guidelines
  • Engages heavily with Business Account Manager(s) to understand customer insights and strategic growth opportunities, in order to advocate effectively for the eCom retail environment during key internal meetings (Strategic Planning Meeting, Go-To-Market Meetings, etc..)
  • Supports the Business Account Manager(s) to summarize trends and develop persuasive selling stories for customer team or other internal stakeholders
  • Facilitates monthly / quarterly internal meeting cadences, including leadership / ownership of facilitating the Monthly Discipline Meeting, files, and Atlas-driven process
  • Drives forward actions in monthly customer planning meetings to review YTD plus plan-to-go with BAMs and Finance
  • Supports volume estimates for Chewy P&L; in coordination with monthly volume estimates for Atlas customer planning tools
  • Supports the Business Account Manager(s) in systematic post evaluation 6P+A activities, developing a detailed understanding of the effectiveness of different investment levers
  • Supports the Business Account Manager(s) to resolve issues throughout internal commercial teams, including Retail Marketing, Shopper & Brand Marketing, Supply Chain, and Insights & Analytics
  • Collaborates with Business Account Manager(s) to tailor internal presentations to the strategies and performance of the customer

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 5+ years of Commercial experience (Sales, Marketing, Finance, Customer Service and Logistics, etc)
  • 2+ years of eCommerce and/or Omnichannel experience or heavy exposure

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 3+ years field sales experience
  • 1+ years Marketing experience
  • 3+ years field management and/or Business Account Management
  • 1+ year experience in eCommerce customer development and/or Digital Marketing experience
  • MBA
  • Strong analytical skills to identify trends and continuous improvement plans.
  • Proficiencies in computer systems, such as Microsoft, Google, BE, CRM, CBP, and databases. Manage competing priorities and customer service needs.
  • Marketing experience a plus, or related cross-functional project management
  • Able to lead change efforts including Go-To-Market plans and improvement for field communications and effectiveness.

Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range $112,000.00 - $157,000.00 USD
Pay is based on multiple non-discriminatory, individualized factors including but not limited to experience, job-related knowledge and education, skills and office/market location. In addition to base salary, salaried employees are eligible for annual discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing and, for Executive-level (salary grade 16 and above) roles only, long-term incentives in the form of Restricted Stock Units and/or Stock Options.
Subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable benefits plans then in effect, all salaried employees are also eligible for a competitive benefits package which includes:
  • Insurance: Employees (and their eligible dependents) are eligible to participate in Company-sponsored Medical, Dental, Vision, Basic Life Insurance, Accidental Death & Dismemberment and Disability insurance plans.
  • Retirement Plans: Employees are eligible to enroll in Colgate's 401(k) plan, which provides for company matching contributions subject to eligibility requirements
  • Vacation/PTO: Employees receive a minimum of 15 days of vacation/PTO leave annually
  • Paid Holidays: Employees receive a minimum of 13 paid/floating holidays annually
  • Paid Sick Leave: Based on location and consistent with applicable state and local law, employees receive a minimum of 40 hours of paid sick leave on January 1st of each year
  • Paid Parental Leave: Eligible employees may take up to eight weeks of paid parental leave and 12 weeks of unpaid leave (varies for employees with fewer than 12 months of service and is subject to hours worked requirements)
