Position Summary:
The Business Development Manager (BDM) will cultivate relationships, negotiate exclusive offers, and manage a portfolio of aggregators, e-commerce brands and merchants in the US. Day-to-day, the BDM will execute our partnership strategy by identifying opportunities, building a pipeline of merchants, negotiating exclusive offers, closing deals and supporting our partners on an ongoing basis.

Responsibilities:
- Build, execute and maintain partnerships with local and national merchants to support BenefitHub Discounts Marketplace & Lifestyle/Voluntary Benefits offerings
- Negotiate exclusive deals for BenefitHub members that pay commissions to the company and include tracking mechanism and electronic data exchange
- Create a systematic approach to partner prospecting, vetting, prioritizing, outreach and relationship management that support company strategy and goals
- Research potential partners, identify decision makers, and generate interest do develop and manage a continuous pipeline of merchant prospects that fit company strategy
- Facilitate the contract process with in house counsel to ensure terms meet requirements and maximize revenue growth potential
- Facilitate onboarding of new partners and deals, by collaborating with the Merchant Operations team to collect marketing assets and implement new offers
- Manage the day to day relationships with our local, national and affiliate partners in the US to achieve mutual value creation and lead agreement renewal process to optimize value for merchant and BenefitHub
- Provide merchant referrals to the BenefitHub Advertising team for incremental exposure and revenue growth
- Stay current with competitors and offers in the employee perks industry
- Create and track monthly revenue forecasts for all prospective and current partners
- Present ongoing program performance reports, insights and new ideas to executive staff
- Conduct Quarterly Business Reviews with key merchant partners
- Identify new areas for growth within the Discounts Marketplace and Lifestyle/Voluntary Benefits offerings
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to identify and implement improvements to merchant and user experience
- Monitor activities for fraud and compliance
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year university
- 4-5 years of digital marketing experience, ideally with a proven track record in sales, Business Development, channel or partner management
- Disciplined approach to Business Development, outreach, follow up and pipeline management
- Existing contacts and relationships with merchants and e-commerce brands, preferred
- Experience reviewing and negotiating CPA/Revenue Sharing contracts
- Ability to support new ideas with strong business case and/or financial modeling, preferred
- Ability to work independently and as a part of a national and international team
- Internet savvy and proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
- Excellent social, verbal and written communication skills
