Job Description:
As a Business Development Associate of Hilco’s ReStore for Retail (the “Company”), you will play a critical role in identification, pursuit and delivery of qualified sales leads for the Company. The role will drive top-of-funnel development by focusing on early stages of the sales pipeline setting meetings with key stakeholders at large retailers. Your responsibilities will include all manner of sales development, qualification of leads and conversion to sales opportunities for the Company. You will work closely with the SVP / VPs of Business Development and other departments to ensure alignment with Company sales goals and objectives and will have the opportunity to play a key role in driving the Company's sales growth and success. This is a high visibility opportunity that provides a runway for substantial growth.
Remote role. *Must* be able to travel every 6 weeks to Northbrook, IL if not local to the area.
Duties:
Research and identify potential clients for Hilco’s ReStore for Retail SaaS platform
Cold call sales leads that will be identified individually and through Business Development efforts to generate interest and schedule meetings with senior executives
Responsible for top-of-funnel development activities utilizing phone, email, social media channels and events
Schedule and conduct initial meetings with key stakeholders at large retailers
Clearly articulate ReStore for Retail’s capabilities and value proposition
Be a product knowledge expert to effectively deliver engaging and informative product demonstrations that are tailored to the specific needs of each prospect or retailer
Support the sales efforts by creating pitch materials, presentations, and proposals for client meetings
Maintain and update Hilco’s CRM platform as the ‘only source of truth’ to include detailed note taking.
Drive results aligned to top-of-funnel (MQL to opportunity conversion) sales waterfall metrics. These results will be directly aligned to the hires variable compensation.
Closely follow sales opportunities to include review of all transaction documents, attend meetings, and update Hilco’s CRM with relevant updates
Work with sales and Business Development leaders to formulate strategies for pursuing new business
Perform other duties as outlined by the HMR’s executive team
Key Competencies:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
3+ years of exceeding lead-to-opportunity conversion quota in a related field, and creating compelling client value propositions
3+ years of experience selling retail solutions or professional services in the retail industry
Strong writer with the ability to craft compelling PowerPoint presentations
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly PowerPoint and Excel
Experience and comfort with cold calling
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to multitask and manage time effectively
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Motivated, proactive, and results-driven attitude
Passion to exceed expectations
Excellent judgment and decision-making ability
Willingness to be held accountable
Keys to Success:
Stay current on all Company sales opportunities, cover troubled companies, and other reports to identify Business Development targets.
Participate in conference calls, meetings, discussions, etc., to gain an understanding of how transactions are structured and the processes to have them approved internally and externally.
