Building Maintenance Mechanic - Portland International Airport

As a Building Maintenance Mechanic at the Portland International Airport (PDX), you will provide skilled labor to maintain PDX facilities and systems. You will also participate in training required to support maintenance activities to Port Aviation facilities as identified by PDX Management.
From water treatment systems to passenger loading bridges, the Building Maintenance Mechanic team keeps facilities at Portland International Airport (PDX) in tip-top shape. • Perform repairs and/or replacements to the Systems and/or Equipment as follows:
  • Passenger Loading Bridges
  • Backflow Preventers
  • Deicing Systems
  • Fire Protection Systems
  • Door Security Systems (doors & locks)
  • Compressed Natural Gas
  • Revolving, Sliding and Overhead Doors
  • Plumbing Systems - Sanitary and Storm Lift Stations
  • Trash Compaction Systems
  • Carpet, Glazing, and Finishes
  • Sign Fabrication (all applications)
  • Car Wash System
  • Dock Levelers
  • Roofing and Roof Drainage Systems
• Other duties as assigned by PDX Management in accordance with the current Collective Bargaining Agreement.

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Experience: Journeyman level knowledge, skills, and experience; or the equivalent combination of education and/or relevant experience.
• Ability to pass and maintain a Criminal History Records check and Security Threat Assessment for a PDX Security Badge is required.
• Maintain a valid state drivers' license is required.
• Journeyman level experience in:
  • Passenger bridge mechanic
  • Plumbing
  • Fire system maintenance
  • Piping and pumps
• Carpentry skills and experience with:
  • Paint Finishes
  • Sheetrock repair and installation
  • Interior finishes and repair
