Job description

We are seeking an enthusiastic community member to add to our award winning team as a part time Breakfast Attendant. This position will be for early morning shifts beginning as early as 5:30 am, must be flexible to work weekends, and holidays. This is a great part time position only requiring about 15 hours per week. We offer weekly pay, and employee discounts at other IHG branded hotels beginning at 90 days of employment.

SUMMARY:

With minimal supervision, provide exceptional guest service by welcoming them and be well attended at all times. Also maintains the breakfast and lobby area in a clean and organized condition at all times.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Arrives on time for their shift
  • Greets guest with a smile and offer them any assistance that they may require
  • Prepares breakfast by cooking foods to desired settings
  • Maintains serving areas during breakfast hours
  • Breaks down serving line
  • Maintains cleanliness in the kitchen, breakfast area, and tables at all times
  • Monitors guest satisfaction of the breakfast
  • Has daily conversations with guest, relates any info back to management
  • Assist other departments without negativity
  • Attends any meetings asked
  • Answers guest(s) questions in regards to the hotel facilities and services
  • Answers guest inquiries (i.e. directions)
  • Recommends local area restaurants or points of interest
  • Understands all Emergency procedures for incidents, accidents, fire safety, or criminal activity
  • Must be able to work flexible hours (i.e. stay over if needed)
  • Wears only the uniform provided (including name tags) and no open toed shoes
  • Other duties as assigned

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

No prior experience or training.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals. Ability to complete and write routine reports. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from guests and employees.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry our simple on or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

TRAINING NEEDS:

Training in providing quality guest service, cleanliness standards, chemical safety, blood borne pathogens and other safety & security procedures.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and extreme heat. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and toxic or caustic chemicals.
