Job Description
We are a Ballantyne/Charlotte, NC based FX Broker looking for a Payroll Specialist to join our team. This is a fast-paced environment in which the candidate will be responsible for processing all aspects of payroll, including benefits within a rapidly expanding organization. The candidate must be able to take ownership of responsibilities, efficiently manage workload and priorities, communicate effectively and suggest, design and implement streamlining processes.
Responsibilities:
- Compile, verify, and report bi-weekly payroll information to third party payroll processing service.
- Process monthly payrolls for international employees and reconcile expenses.
- Update payroll records by entering any changes to employee information or benefits such as salary changes, insurance deductions, expense reimbursements, and IRA contributions.
- Calculate commissions, submit for approval, and make entries into Quickbooks accounting system.
- Administer employee benefits to include completing new hire paperwork, processing updates, employee termination notices, and COBRA.
- Track employee personal time off and update staff PTO Calendar.
- Assists with new employee procedures, handbook updates and distribution of changes, and update job descriptions as needed.
- Compiles employee and employer IRA contribution reports to submit funds to investment company.
- Maintains recordkeeping system which includes personnel, benefits, time and attendance, and separation records.
- Perform account balance and payroll reconciliations.
- Reconcile sales team commission accounts.
- Processes new hire paperwork.
- Maintains bulletin boards of required employee postings and general information.
- Respond to payroll related inquires and resolve concerns.
- Any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Two years of payroll experience
- Proficiency in Quickbooks and Microsoft Office required
- Detail and deadline-oriented
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to incorporate new processes and information into existing structure
- Capable of effectively communicating with staff and clients in a cooperative manner
