Bookkeeper/Accountant

Tippins Foods is a start-up food processing company committed to taking camping food further. We conduct co-packing in the freeze dry food space and host in-house brand of camping food and meal packages. We are looking for a levelheaded accountant/bookkeeper who loves bringing order to chaos, is familiar with food manufacturing, and is excited to take on any new challenge that might arise. This is a role that is intended to primarily be bookkeeping in nature, will have occasional duties that will require a deeper understanding of accounting.

Initial Job Responsibilities:

· Monthly bookkeeping

· Cost and inventory accounting

· Managing accounts receivable and payables

· Assist in budget Preparation and budget maintenance

Our ideal candidate will have the following:

· A bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting, business, or related field

· Previous experience as an accountant and bookkeeper in start-up atmosphere.

· A love of the outdoors.

· Knowledge of manufacturing accounting practices.

· Strong organizational skills.

· Expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks.

· CPA certification is preferred.

Timeline:

This role is intended to be a long-term position. The start date is immediate.

Compensation:

This is an hourly part-time position. Our pay rate for this position is $25-$40/hour, with profit-sharing opportunities. Paid vacation time, sick days, and outdoor leave. Partial healthcare, dental, and vision insurance included.

Workplace and Travel:

Tippins Foods is located in O’Hara Township, Pittsburgh, PA. This is intended to be a hybrid role with flexible hours. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8am-4pm. Travel is expected to be <5% hours worked and would be infrequent if necessary.
