We are looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to join a well-established design and land surveying firm, located in Tacoma, WA. Schedule: Monday - Thursday 7 am - 5 pm Friday 8am -12pm
Salary Range: $58,240 - $72,800
BookkeeperJob Responsibilities:
Employee timecard and expense entry
Monthly billing for customer projects involves collaborating with project managers to generate accurate client invoices, often of a complex nature, and ensuring timely delivery.
Processing and paying invoices in adherence to company policies, including vendor setup and maintenance, invoice matching, coding, approval validation, accurate data entry, and ensuring on-time payments in various forms. Addressing and resolving complex issues.
Handling Accounts Receivable.
Managing General Ledger.
Conducting Bank Reconciliation: Monthly reconciliation of vendor and bank statements.
Assisting External Accountant: Providing support for Financial Statement Preparation.
Monthly Payroll Preparation and Processing: Includes tasks such as payroll tax filings.
Invoicing Review: Examining all invoices for appropriate documentation and allocating them to projects or journal accounts.
Employee Onboarding Assistance.
W-2 Preparation.
W-9 Collection and 1099 Reporting: Gathering necessary documentation for 1099 reporting, preparing and filing 1099 forms.
Document Maintenance: Thoroughly and accurately maintaining files and documentation in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices.
Administrative Office Support.
BookkeeperQualifications:
It's important to note that due to the role's responsibilities, PTO is restricted during the first three business days of each month.
Prior experience is highly valued, with a preference for candidates possessing both life experience and relevant professional background.
Residence in the South Puget Sound region is a requirement.
Proficiency in essential software such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and 10-key by touch is essential.
Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office applications like Word and Excel.
Familiarity with accounting software, specifically Ajera, is desired. Note that training will be provided, and successful candidates are expected to grasp the basics within approximately 60 days.
An associate degree in a business-related field, preferably in accounting or bookkeeping, is preferred.
