The Ohio Ecological Food and Farm Association (OEFFA) has an immediate opening for an experienced Bookkeeper to work within our organization’s in-house accounting department, focusing on day-to-day financial transactions.

Position Summary
We are looking for a skilled Bookkeeper to maintain our financial records, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments. Responsibilities include but are not limited to data entry into QuickBooks, compile reports, gather and organize bank statements, highlighting discrepancies in organization records and research possible reasons for error or differences in expected versus actual account balances.
Essential Functions
· Accomplish full charge bookkeeping using QuickBooks
· Calculate, prepares, and issues invoices
· Receive, process, and record all payments via cash, checks, and credit cards
· Process timesheets, payroll, and expense reimbursements with payroll service provider
· Track PTO time earned and used by all staff
· Assist in tax payments and returns
· Manage special projects as requested by the Accountant or Executive Director
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Accounting, or a related field is preferred; at minimum a two-year Associate degree is required
· High level of expertise using QuickBooks software; strong skills in other applications, especially Excel
· Strong organizational, analytic, and project management skills
· Ability to manage multiple tasks at the same time
· Strong written and oral communication skills
· High degree of integrity, particularly in managing confidential information
· Commitment to performing work with a high degree of accountability and consistent excellence with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
· Ability to maintain and prepare accurate records and files
· Ability to be flexible and open in dealing with changing events and priorities
· Passion about sustainable agriculture and organic agriculture, family farms, and rural places a plus
· Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
Physical & Cognitive Requirements
· Must be able to effectively operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a copy machine, fax/printer, and telephone, as well as be proficient in Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace (eg. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, OneNote)
· Must be fluent in English
· Must be able to work cooperatively with others
· Must be able to sit at a desk for long periods of time maintaining concentration with frequent interruptions
· Must be able to ascend/descend stairs
· Must comply with all organization policies and procedures and maintain regular and punctual attendance
· Must be able to meet project and report deadlines
Compensation and Benefits
This is a full-time hourly position with a pay range from $22-$25 depending on experience and qualifications. OEFFA offers an impressive benefits package including health, dental, vision, life, sick time and paid time off.
