Position Overview: As Bookkeeper of our church, you will play an invaluable role in managing its financial records and transactions while upholding accuracy, compliance and transparency in them all. We welcome candidates that demonstrate these traits for this position!
Responsibilities:
- Perform data entry and administrative duties
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks).
- Process accounts payable and receivable, including vendor payments, invoicing, and donation tracking.
- Reconcile bank statements and prepare monthly financial reports for review by church leadership.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
- Coordinate with external auditors for annual audits and compliance reviews.
- Manage payroll processing and employee benefits administration.
- Provide administrative support as needed, including answering phone calls and assisting with inquiries.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in accounting, finance, or other related fields
- Proven experience as a bookkeeper or similar role, preferably in a non-profit or religious organization.
- Fundamental knowledge of GAAP
- Ability to prioritize and multitask
- Strong organizational skills
- Deadline and detail-oriented
