TITLE: Bookkeeper
DEPARTMENT: Accounting
REPORTS TO: Owner/CEO
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
Summary: This Bookkeeper will be responsible for all bookkeeping, including accounts payable and receivable, sales tax, deposit and statement reconciliations, property tax declaration, financial statement preparation, and other tasks within our ERP software.
Essential Duties: Essential job duties for this position include the following items. Other duties must be performed as assigned or required.
General Bookkeeping
- Oversee daily use of our ERP software, ACUMATICA, in regards to accounting related transactions.
- Bill entry, monitoring, and analysis (All expenses entered)
- Cost analysis and reporting, classification of all transactions
- Bank reconciliations, credit card reconciliations, financial statement preparation
- Sales Tax: Local and Nexus
- Annual Property Tax Declarations
Accounts Payable
- Pay ALL bills.
- Reconcile statements from terms vendors and ensure paid in timely manner.
Accounts Receivable
- Ensure any terms customers are paying on time.
- Identify customers with negative/positive balances and rectify as directed.
Deposits
- Daily reconciliation of deposits for all divisions of the company
- Receiving payments
Administrative
- Assist owner with clerical tasks, including organization and filing of documents, correspondence with office vendors, purchasing supplies
- Analyzing and adjusting expenses or recommending adjustments for review
- Inventory location and cycle counts assistance.
- Work toward continuous quality improvement.
- Stay current with changing technology, including software and accounting programs.
- Uphold, support, and promote all company policies and procedures
Supervisory Responsibilities: The position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, the individual in this position must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the minimum knowledge, skills and ability required.
Education/Experience: Associate degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or minimum one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to draft reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
