JOB TITLE: Board of Director - Treasurer (Volunteer)
LOCATION: 125 E 300 S, Provo, Ut 84606
Hours: Twice a month (2 hrs/meeting)
ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION:
Utah Valley Refugees a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in Utah County, with its mission to relocate and help refugees and immigrants build new lives in Utah. We are looking for a committed person, passionate and willing to support our mission and the need of uprooted populations in Utah County.
SUMMARY:
As a treasurer at Utah Valley Refugees, your main responsibilities are but not limited to overseeing the management and reporting of the organization's finances, ensure the safe and accurate reception and utilization of all funds.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor compliance with all safe accounting procedures
- Supervise and train accounting team
- Work with the executive director and the accountant in establishing a budget for board approval
- Report financials to the board
In addition to the above responsibilities, as a member of the Board of Directors of UTAH VALLEY REFUGEES, you will have legal and ethical responsibility to ensure that the organization does the best work possible in pursuit of its goals and support the purpose and mission of the organization.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A high school diploma or a bachelor's degree in accounting or experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
In addition to the above qualifications, this position requires:
Proficiency using Microsoft and excel spreadsheets
Knowledge of using QuickBooks
