Job Summary
Position is responsible for analyzing patient accounts, researching account history, and determining the appropriate information for billing patients' third party insurance carriers within a standard time frame.Job Description
Work Hours/Location:
- Monday - Friday
- 8hr shift - 100% onsite
- Start times: Can start as early as 6:30am or as late as 8:00am
- Location: Memorial City campus - 909 Frostwood Drive, Houston, TX 77024
Minimum Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma or GED, preferred
Licenses/Certifications: (None)
Experience / Knowledge / Skills:
- Two (2) years clerical experience in a medical/hospital environment
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Proficient PC skills (word processing & spreadsheets) and calculator by touch
Principal Accountabilities
- Prepares UB92's for mailing maintaining postal regulations produced from three transmission files.
- Bundles implant invoices for imaging.
- Sorts returned mail daily. Enter errors in Return Mail database and make correction on-line in patient access systems, prepare for re-mailing to complete the billing process.
- Prepares Patient Questionnaire/Survey letters. Obtain information on-line from Customer Services Incoming Calls database.
- Verifies and process Audit bills from third party audit.
- Researches missing data as requested by the billing staff.
- Works various daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
- Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors, adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity of service.
- Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor and resource to less experienced staff.
