Billing Manager

Overview:
Join a growing group practice as Billing Manager! This position is part-time, remote, and hourly, with the potential to add hours and responsibilities as the practice grows. Shaikh & Associates is a Chicago-based group psychotherapy practice with a mission to provide culturally conscious, uplifting and individualized therapy to youth, adults, and couples.

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Billing Manager. As a Billing Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the billing process, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. This is a key role within our organization, as accurate billing is crucial to maintaining positive client relationships and financial stability.

The Billing Manager is responsible for timely and accurate billing of electronic Behavioral Health claims for the clinical team. Other responsibilities include:

• Efficiently manage referrals from first contact to initial intake appointment
• Collaborate with clinical team to ensure referrals are appropriately assigned and billing issues are addressed quickly
• Verify insurance eligibility accurately and in a timely manner
• Communicate effectively via email with clients and clinical team
• Calculating revenue and managing payroll numbers
• Develops policies and procedures related to claims processing and cash receivables
• Identify and institute plans to correct problems to ensure accuracy and maximum efficiency to ensure a high collection rate

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree plus 3 years direct healthcare billing experience. 5 years of progressive, hands-on medical claims experience can be substituted for bachelor’s degree
• Strong/Expert Abilities and Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Availity, Insurance Portals, and other relevant software tools
• Medical and Billing Certification preferred
• Behavioral Health Claims experience required
• Thorough knowledge and working experience of CPT, and ICD10 codes, HIPAA, medical terminology, appeal processes, billing and insurance regulations, and insurance benefits
• Experience with automated billing systems and data management systems required
• Experience with TherapyNotes preferred
• Effective communication abilities, especially working with diverse populations

Pay: $25.00 - $50.00 per hour
