- Maintain current information on correct and lawful practices for billing payers
- Clearinghouse knowledge to analyze and update claims received from claim submission exclusions
- Verify patient information to ensure it is complete and accurate; update patient information regularly to reflect changes in their demographics while ensuring patient privacy
- Submit paper claims where exceptions are needed
- Knowledgeable with EAP process, coding, and claim submission
- Work with provider submitted charges to ensure accuracy and timely claim submission
- Resolve billing issues and coding discrepancies with appropriate communication to the various parties
- Other duties as needed
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- 1+ year of experience in a medical billing role
- Previous experience with an electronic medical/health record
- Understanding of associated privacy legislation related to healthcare information, i.e., HIPAA
- Strong attention to detail
