Job description

We are looking for a Benefits and HRIS Specialist who is equipped with advanced quantitative skills and driven by a people-first mentality providing excellent and impactful experiences for all GS1 US team members. If you're passionate about creating a work environment where every employee is given the opportunity to bring their authentic selves to work, then we want to chat.

What is in it for you:

We have awesome people here at GS1 US. Highly accomplished professionals everywhere. You get to make them even better. As the Benefits and HRIS Specialist at GS1 US, you’ll be the main resource reporting to the Manager, Compensation and Benefits and providing support with a variety of Total Rewards projects focusing on benefits, HRIS (ADP WFN) reporting, and HR compliance.

You’ll be rewarded with great pay and benefits, a professional work environment, and you’ll get to do work at a high-performance company with a world-class culture that invests in its employees. We don’t just say culture is important to us, we have the data to back it up. This is a great role if you are looking to start your HR career or transition your existing HR knowledge into the areas of Benefits and HRIS administration by gaining hands on experience.

Who you are:

You are excited about the opportunity to evaluate current processes and recommend efficiency updates to any of the day-to-day tasks.

You take great pride in your attention to detail and LOVE a good spreadsheet. Accuracy is a priority for you. Manipulating data and turning data into information is something you enjoy doing.

Your educational background or experience (and have we mentioned love of data and HR analytics?) has led you to a career in Human Resources.

You take pride in your communication skills – both written and verbal. How an audience receives the information you are offering is a priority for you.

Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, you are willing to challenge the status quo in a highly collaborative manner. We love to improve and want your creative suggestions to help get us there.

What you will do:

Benefits Administration

  • Day-to-day administration of all health and welfare and retirement plans, life and disability insurance, and COBRA including but not limited to processing enrollments, life events, terminations, and ensuring the effective transfer of all elections and changes to vendors (including troubleshooting any system integration and error reporting issues).

  • Assist with the LOA administration for disability and/or FMLA leave requests.

  • Administer the GS1 US Wellness Program initiatives.

  • Provide ongoing support during open enrollment season relating to employee enrollment analysis/reporting, updating elections and communications, responding to employee benefit questions, and general quality assurance of the benefits election system to ensure a positive employee experience.

  • Collaborate with our Payroll Specialist to ensure proper deductions (and/or adjustments) are taken correctly during each pay processing cycle.

  • Responsible for new hire onboarding as it relates to benefits orientation, setting up the new hire(s) in the HRIS, coordinating supporting documentation as it relates to dependents, etc.

  • Serve as the main point of contact for all tier one employee benefit questions.

  • Responsible for interpreting and complying with all federal, state, and local Benefits and HR laws.

HRIS Administration

  • Monitors HR Information System (HRIS) ADP WorkforceNow for compliance by running reports and making necessary changes to job codes, data validation tables, reports, and other systems applications.

  • Maintain accuracy of data and data flow from HR to payroll (including benefit deductions and other payroll related actions).

  • Develop and implement new processes for efficient HR data management.

  • Administration and support of Kudos employee recognition platform, PerformYard talent management platform, and JobVite onboarding platform by running and analyzing reports for effective utilization.

HR Compliance

  • Create and maintain employee personnel files and employee records. Communicate with other members of the Human Resources team and people managers to ensure accuracy of HRIS and personnel files.

  • Maintain external facing HR information sites including organizational charts and Employee Benefits page on the company Intranet.

  • Perform all data gathering and analytics for Affirmative Action Plan and EEOC reporting compliance.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Ready to be part of a team that believes the identification of everything makes anything possible? Apply today – we can’t wait to hear your story.
