Job Summary:
The Behavioral Health support staff are essential and the backbone of Behavioral Health practices. The Medical Assistants and Nurses are what make CHN’s Medical and Psychiatry departments function daily by keeping the patients flowing through the clinic and ensure that providers have the information and tools they need. Community Health Network is a Certified Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) organization. We adhered to the PCMH guidelines and standards to treat the whole patient and ensure the continuum of care.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Direct patient care involving in-take which includes but is not limited to vitals, screens, tests, and injections
- Assist providers with exams, procedures, treatment plans, medication refills, prior authorizations and discharge as directed·
- Responds to internal messages to process inquiries in timely manner
- Laboratory & Specimens: Assists with specimen collection, reporting, and communication to patient of results
- Supports psychiatric provider schedules to ensure daily productivity targets
- Attend huddles and interact with care teams to prepare and discuss the upcoming schedule and patient lists·
- May assist with translation as needed which includes verbal and written communications
- Assist in maintaining all logs, records, & reports as instructed by the Behavioral Health Coordinator/Behavioral Health Manager·
- Work directly with the Site Leads to ensure all medical supplies are stocked
- Perform emergency procedures according to approved protocol
- Adhere to CHN and Clinical Support Operations Policies and Guidelines
- Performing all other related duties incidental to the work described herein as may be assigned or delegated by the Behavioral Health Coordinator or the Behavioral Health Manager
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Knowledge of all confidentiality requirements regarding patients and strict maintenance of proper confidentiality on all such information
- Ability to deal professionally, courteously, and efficiently with the public and all levels of the organization
- Effective language, listening, and verbal presentation skills to communicate with staff, patients, families, and caregivers·
- Ability to read and understand complex information and reference materials to collect relevant information
- Ability to utilize technology (phone, internet, EMR) to conduct patient visits and complete a day

- Ability to multitask and handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to run and analyze reports to identify populations in need
- Ability to resolve complex issues

- Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures
- Promote patient advocacy for high quality of care
Preferred Skills/Abilities:
- Bilingual: Vietnamese or Spanish speaking
Required Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED
- Medical Assistant (MA) from a state approved school (Certified or Registered Medical Assistant
- preferred)
- One year of work experience in healthcare or Behavioral Health
