Overview:
Provide support to Behavioral Health providers, including all provider types. Duties include but are not limited to: vitals/rooming patients, managing referrals to providers, screening new and existing patients with risk assessments, phone communication between providers and patients. Provide support onsite and virtual.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Obtain vital signs on patients and enter into EHRS in a timely fashion.
- Screen new patients and schedule appointments.
- Obtain collateral information from school, other providers/hospitals as needed.
- Translate for monolingual providers, as needed.
- Help complete referrals as directed by providers and supervisor.
- Conduct reminder calls for all unconfirmed patients the day before their appointments to ensure compliance.
- Answer phones and retrieve any messages left, send phone note to appropriate provider.
- Schedule follow-up appointments at end of clinic visits for all BH providers.
- Reschedule patients as needed for patient cancellation or provider cancellation.
- Provide data entry, general office duties, and administrative support for BH.
- Complete Prior authorizations for medications as requested by insurance.
- Triage Behavioral Health emergency situations for the clinic, as needed.
- Assist with Voicemail/fax/patient/EHRS messages as requested by team.
- Process “In House” medical records requests, to include school requested medication administration forms, letters for patients, etc.
- Coordinate with Therapist or Primary Care Physician (PCP) to schedule patient for psychiatry or traditional therapy appointment.
- Follow BH No Show Procedure.
- Travel to other locations for coverage, as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education, Experience, Licensure/Certification and Skills/Abilities Related Requirements:
- Must maintain first aid /CPR.
- One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience preferred.
- Familiarity with BH preferred.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.
- Good direct and telephone communication skills.
- Must be able to work in a team setting.
- Ability to travel to other agency sites at least 50% required.
- Bilingual in Spanish/English preferred
Continuing Education and Training Requirements:
- Participates in trainings required by the agency, funding source(s), and/or as required by licensure if applicable.
