Our client in the banking technology sector is seeking an Azure Engineer for a 4+ month contract employment opportunity. The Azure Engineer will be responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, and supporting enterprise Azure environments across multiple tenants. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Azure administration, DevOps, security, and VMWare.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor the Azure Portal for alerts generated in Azure Monitor and respond accordingly.
- Oversee Azure patching and ensure compliance with best practices.
- Use Azure Lighthouse to manage multiple tenants and resources.
- Implement and maintain Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines for various applications.
- Interface with clients for external issues/reports and provide excellent customer service.
- Utilize the Microsoft support portal for submitting tickets and escalating issues.
- Troubleshoot issues with Azure agents, such as backup, monitoring, site recovery, Azure vm guest extension, SQL IaaS extension, etc.
- Work with various Azure Services, such as Synapse Workspace, VM & IaaS Services, App Gateway, WAF policies, Key Vault, Backup & Site Recovery, Policy & Privileged Identity Management, etc.
- Assume roles to other tenants with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and use tools such as Linkerd, FluxCD, ArgoCD, etc.
- Manage Azure APIM, Active Directory, SQL, Networking, and other Azure components.
- Administer Azure defender for cloud, update manager, automation accounts, advisor and cost management, arc, AD Connect, Virtual Desktop, and other Azure services as they are developed/deployed.
- Work with VMWare and other virtualization technologies to manage and migrate on-prem workloads to Azure.
Requirements:
- 7-10 years of IT experience in roles such as system administration/analyst/engineer, Azure Engineer, Azure admin, or similar.
- Advanced knowledge and experience working with MS Azure in an operational capacity.
- Experience with internal support responding to tickets and escalations.
- Knowledge of security best practices and protocols in Azure Active Directory.
- Experience configuring SSO for applications across different authentication platforms.
- Knowledge of security protocols related to third-party apps and SSO requirements.
- Diploma in Computer Science, IT, or related field preferred.
- Experience with VMWare and other virtualization technologies.
- Experience with on-prem and hybrid cloud environments.
- Availability to start immediately.
- Eligible to work in Canada.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check.
