Role: Cyber Security Sytem Engineer
Location: Seattle, WA
Contract Duration: 12+ months
OVERVIEW:
As a consultant with experience in both systems engineering and Cyber Security, you will combine your problem-solving skills with your systems and information assurance knowledge to evaluate and deliver secure aeronautic systems. Responsibilities include review, analysis, and design guidance for airplane systems to ensure compliance with all pertinent civilian and military Cyber Security guidance, directives and regulations, and support the delivery of secure integrated systems.
Through analysis and findings, you will confirm aircraft security and defense against cyberattacks.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Work with airplane Cyber Security and systems engineering teams to design, test, and verify security and DO-326 compliance through all stages of development.
• Generate and review documentation to support airworthiness security certification.
• Define and communicate program risks, risk mitigations and opportunities.
REQUIREMENTS:
Desired Skills/Experience:
• Bachelor's degree AND seven 7 plus years of relevant experience, OR an advanced degree with two (2) plus years relevant experience.
• Experience with system and/or software requirements development and traceability.
• Experience with regulatory airworthiness certification processes.
• Experience with test procedures, including lab testing and troubleshooting.
• Ability to contribute and lead in complex and often ambiguous situations.
• Advanced knowledge of network systems and services (e.g. TCP/IP, switching, routing, packet analysis).
• Basic knowledge of non-network security (ARINC protocols, detachable storage).
• Basic understanding of systems and standards that enable network security (e.g. firewalls, authentication methods, encryption, PKI, NIST).
• Experience with airplane on-board systems that transfer digital data using standards-based technology (ARINC 429, ARINC 629, ARINC 664, CANBUS, AFDX).
• Experience with airplane off-board communication systems.
• Familiarity with industry standards for airworthiness security (RTCA DO-326, DO-355, & DO-356).
• Strong verbal and written communications.
• Familiarity with DOORS, ClearQuest and/or JIRA a plus.
• Familiarity with aircraft manufacturer cybersecurity process a plus.
