Our company has made significant progress with advancing our cardiometabolic and rare disease pipeline this year. Moreover, we expect 8 approvals in the next five years across our broad and exciting portfolio.

With these advancements, the Cardiometabolic & Respiratory team will also transform as we ensure the business is fully resourced to support the next phase of growth. With a goal of building an industry leading team, we must continuously attract and inspire talent; build patient centric commercial capabilities and drive best in class launches to enable long term value realization.

The AVP, Global Metabolism and Thrombosis will lead two key pipeline products in our company's expanding cardiometabolic portfolio, specifically in chronic kidney disease/ end stage renal disease and in Non-Alcoholic Steatohepatitis (NASH)/Obesity. Both products have the potential to best in class products and blockbuster revenue.

The Glucagon Like Peptide-1 (GLP-1) market is expected to be the largest growth opportunity in the pharmaceutical industry, driven by the global obesity epidemic. The product is being developed with a focus on NASH and has been shown to have profound weight loss benefits as well. The product has the potential to deliver best in class NASH efficacy as compared to other GLP-1 based therapies and in the broad metabolic/obesity market. The product is expected to enter Phase III in across the full range of NASH patients. This role will also lead the block-buster Diabetes portfolio and drive profitability and late lifecycle plans.

The Thrombosis market is a large and exciting market opportunity. The aspiration for the product is to be the foundation therapy in the prevention of major thrombotic cardiovascular events and risk of bleeding events in Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD)/ End-stage kidney disease (ESKD) patients. Patients with late-stage Cyclin Dependent Kinase (CKD) or are at significantly higher risk of major thrombotic cardiovascular events with no approved anticoagulant therapies to reduce risk for Cardiovascular CV events. The product is expected to enter Phase III in 2024.

The Global Brand Leader will play an important role in supporting the commercial transformation and leadership of our launches, pipeline including new ways of working, embedding advanced analytics, evolving the commercial models and building value for patients, payers and Health Care Provider (HCP). This role will also support the Commercial Leadership in our Business Development efforts to help support growth and leadership in this space.

Specific Responsibilities Include:

  • Oversee realization of the vision and enterprise strategy for our Diabetes portfolio.

  • Commercial leadership and partnership with our Research and Development (R&D) Division to optimize product development team (PDT) and global brand strategy, development plans, and launch readiness.

  • Lead the Global Commercial team and ensure integration of marketing, policy, GMAx, Medical, Clinical and CORE in the development of an integrated brand strategy. Collaborate with the key markets, other key stakeholders to ensure a unified strategy; global brand strategy, value evidence, rapid and broad access, launch readiness, customer centric commercial model.

  • Support development efforts with R&D and Corporate Business Development

  • Collaborate with Business Development Team (Global and Regional) to identify inorganic growth opportunities in the CV/ Metabolic space.

  • Work closely with Early Development Commercial Leads to ensure commercial insights within the diabetes/ metabolic space are leveraged in the development of pre-phase III assets

  • Drive forward digital innovation, focused on strategy development, optimization of analytics as well as tactic development work through the GCT and Key markets to support consistent execution at local country level

  • Engage policy team to identify relevant policy levers to support portfolio access

  • Maintain strong level of collaboration with our Manufacturing colleagues to inform short-term and long-term supply chain decisions.

  • Partner with R&D CORE team to ensure real world evidence plan is fully aligned with portfolio priorities

  • Partner with Cardiometabolic Global Marketing Colleagues to invest in each other’s development, build a culture of inclusivity and stretch our collective team’s thinking by challenging the status quo for the purpose of creating stronger outcomes

Education Minimum Requirement: Bachelor's Degree

Preferred Education: Advanced Degree (MBA)

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Minimum of 10 years combined marketing, sales, market access, or related experiences in pharmaceutical or biotechnology industries including Cardiovascular and payer experience.

  • Launch and pipeline strategy experience is preferred

Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • Leadership and Impact: Proven track record of high-performance launches and driving business results.

  • Innovative Thinking: Demonstrated ability to leverage innovation to drive results

  • Collaboration: Strong collaboration skills, both within commercial teams and cross divisional teams including R&D and manufacturing, medical affairs, CORE/RWE.

  • Communication: Ability to clearly articulate messages/information across the enterprise and to all levels, including highest levels of senior leadership

  • Understanding of Drug Development Process (Early and Late Stage)

  • Strategic Thinking: Proven ability to manage complex data, insights and create clear patient and customer centric strategies

  • Challenging Status Quo: Ability to push past internal obstacles to drive initiatives forward

U.S. Hybrid Work Model

Effective September 5, 2023, employees in office-based positions in the U.S. will be working a Hybrid work consisting of three total days on-site per week, generally Tuesday, Wednesday and either Monday or Thursday, although the specific days may vary by site or organization, with Friday designated as a remote-working day, unless business critical tasks require an on-site presence. Expected salary range:

$268,500.00 - $422,700.00
