About the Role:
The role is responsible for developing and implementing the Business Development and Commercialisation Strategy within the region. The role will own the analysis of growth strategies in the region that will help drive critical business decisions including both fossil jet and sustainability agenda. The role will enable origination of step-out growth opportunities, new market entries, deal structures, strategic partnerships, and champion internal teams to develop business cases for approval. This role will support development and execution of the sustainability strategy and offer structures
Key Responsibilities:
> Bring together various bp teams in the region to develop medium and long term strategy and roadmap for Aviation business, including fossil jet and sustainable aviation fuel
> Together with the regional teams, strategize, originate, develop, and implement a pipeline of Business Development opportunities to grow the Aviation Business. Lead material and step-out opportunities that will drive growth or efficiency. Examples of growth projects: pre-airfield logistics debottlenecking; on airfield tank farm investments and fuel supply; support Trading, Commercial, and Sales team in new location growth; development of SAF / sustainability offerings; strategic partnerships with external collaborators; portfolio matters such as new market entries / exits
> Lead preparation of internal business cases to facilitate investment decisions by senior executives in line with Aviation strategy
> Coordinate regional growth forum and project governance process
> Represent Aviation considerations in relevant projects led by other bp teams across Biofuels; Midstream; Trading & Shipping; Regions, Corporates & Solutions, etc.
Role Requirements:
> Bachelor or equivalent professional qualification.
> An MBA or higher degree would be beneficial.
> At least ten years of experience across commercial, operational, sales, strategy, or Business Development roles, ideally in aviation or ground fuels
> Proven track record of developing strategies, leading negotiations with external collaborators, and implementing multi-functional Business Development projects
> Excel in influencing / leading large teams and experience of delivering multiple projects concurrently and effective prioritisation.
> Deep understanding of the market trends, competitive landscape, and business ecosystem including fossil and sustainability considerations
> Skills for developing arguments and project economics, pitching to senior executives, and facilitating investment decisions
> Ability to build external networks to develop organic and inorganic business opportunities
> Creative and analytical, with commercial savvy and flexibility, and understanding of market dynamics
> Experience in midstream / supply chain product movements, optimization, or assets development, biofuels, sustainable product offer development
