Under California Government Code Section 14200, this position is eligible for hybrid telework and may be eligible for full-time remote work in some circumstances and/or time-periods, at the sole discretion of the Department. Telework-eligible applicants must reside in California. Headquarter location will be designated on the selected candidate's primary residence location. In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced, challenging work environment requiring quick turnaround to meet established deadlines desired.
- Demonstrated analytical skills, including the ability to use good judgment when analyzing data and situations, draw sound conclusions, and take effective action desired.
- Demonstrated legal creativity, including in developing substantively and strategically sound interpretations of new and developing law desired.
- Working knowledge of legal documents and related material.
- Expertise in real estate law and transactions, finance.
- Experience with state housing loan or grant programs.
- Expertise in the legal aspects of real estate transactions, multi-family housing finance, and/or development.
- Experience in mortgage law.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to interact with people at different levels and from different backgrounds desired.
- Ability to handle multiple assignments with accuracy, to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and to work effectively, independently, and in a team environment desired.
- Well-developed and demonstrated skills in legal research, writing, analysis, negotiation, and advocacy desired.
