We are seeking an Associate Director/Director of IT Applications, who will serve as a liaison between IT and all Caribou business functions.  In this role, you will develop the enterprise application roadmap in support of the Company's growth. This is a great opportunity to influence the IT application portfolio and strategy at its early stages. This newly created role will report to the Vice President of Operations and IT and the role may be hybrid with on-site work in Berkeley, CA. 

Responsibilities will include: 

• Partner with functional leaders, understand Caribou business processes and setup, develop IT application portfolio and strategy 
• Manage external apps stakeholders and serve as a liaison to our internal apps business owners.  Stay connected with the latest apps trends, determining the most effective apps solutions for Caribou. 
• Work with VP of IT to develop the IT roadmap and align technology to apps development strategy 
• Develop and execute plans for enterprise apps development 
• Work with IT infrastructure and help desk to streamline apps support model 
• Be the IT spokesperson for apps and seek continuous improvement in apps selection and services 
• Work with consultants and be responsible for documentation of systems and processes 
• Stay abreast of IT apps cybersecurity and work closely with IT infrastructure 
• As a senior IT member, contribute to overall IT roadmap and strategy. Provide mentorship to the IT staff 
• Oversee and responsible for IT apps spending at Caribou 
• Additional opportunities to work on new and on-going projects within the IT area 

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor's degree required, related to Computer Science or Business Information Systems.  MBA a plus. 
• Minimum 10 years' IT applications experience in the life sciences industry. 
• Knowledge of data security and experience with apps regulatory compliance requirements (e.g. FDA, SOX, NIST, ISO) to include supporting audits. 
• Experience in developing, designing, implementing, and monitoring plans, policies, procedures and systems. 
• Previously built, led and grew an IT apps function for a clinical-stage biotech company. 
• Demonstrate strong communication and leadership skills.   
• Exhibit interpersonal, influencing, problem solving and time management skills. 
• Leadership experience in IT apps spending and decision making. 
• Project management experience, including budget and resource management .
• The ability to work onsite, in Berkeley, a minimum of 2-days per week.

Nice-to-haves: 

• Experience with the implementation of an enterprise wide system in a life science industry is strongly preferred. 

Caribou compensation and benefits include: 

• Comprehensive compensation package, which includes competitive salary, bonus, and equity for all employees 
• Salary Range: $180,000 to $255,000 - This represents the present low and high end of the Company's pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary based on various factors, including but not limited to location, skill, experience, and performance.
