Job Summary:The Assistant Director of IT oversees the corporate and local hospitality systems portfolio which includes Lodging, F&B, Retail, Sales & Catering, PBX/voice systems and CMMS implemented in their assigned property location as well as desktop and IT infrastructure support for the assigned properties. Works in conjunction with the Corporate IT Team, Regional Director of IT and other IT staff members to coordinate all necessary IT projects/initiatives required for their assigned property and strategically plans all aspects of the information systems being used at their property. Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the IT Department for their assigned properties.

Responsibilities
  • Must be able to demonstrate professional and courteous behavior with all guests and employees.
  • Handles all day-to-day support IT functions needed within the property. Serves as the leader of the department in the absence of the Regional Director of IT.
  • Works with the Regional Director of IT and property General Manager, or designate, in hiring, training, and supervising all IT staff members at their property as well as conducts annual reviews for the property's IT staff. Works with the Regional Director of IT to set operational goals for the property.
  • Works with the Chief Information Officer, Regional Director of IT, and other corporate IT staff to serve as the primary technical liaison between the property and corporation.
  • Works with the Regional Director of IT and Property Controller to set and adhere to departmental operating and capital budgets as well as oversight of hardware and software maintenance contracts.
  • Provides both strategic direction and tactical implementation plans for acquisition of new systems hardware, upgrades, replacements, rehabilitation, and recycling.
  • Under the direction of the Regional Director of IT, manages server upgrades within the property inventories including hardware, application software, operating systems, peripheral software and network equipment.
  • Oversees evaluations and monitoring of vendor service performance or vendor product performance to ensure availability of optimal system environments.
  • Under the direction of the Regional Director of IT, manages major systems infrastructure changes including servers, desktops, notebook/laptops, network connection devices and security applications including the adherence to corporate environment standards for purchasing, maintenance and proper disposal/recycling of retired physical assets.
  • Provides backup support for centrally managed server functions to include procedures for backup, storage media, scheduling, and off-site storage. This includes disaster recovery hardware and applications for designated corporate systems.
  • Oversee management operations for data center services. Maintains an environmentally controlled, secured data processing facility with proper power distribution/backup and cooling functions.
  • Provides direction and support for ancillary field operations systems such as credit card processing, timekeeping/labor reporting/labor forecasting, point of sale operations/reporting for Lodging, F&B, retail, maintenance management systems, disaster recovery planning, and energy management systems.
  • Manages audits and secures access to all server systems and related peripherals.
  • Assists the Regional Director of IT with planning of disaster recovery programs to ensure system recovery should the system suffer a serious malfunction or failure and may respond from remote locations via VPN or in person when system failures or problems require their attention.
  • Responsible for maintaining property infrastructure including Fiber Optic, Ethernet, Phone, Cable TV, and wireless technology both intra and inter building throughout the property.
  • Responsible for Guest in-room technology including but not limited to, television, phone, wireless and on-demand services.
  • Responsible to day-to-day oversight and direction of team's formed by the Regional Director of IT and the Chief Information Officer (teams like a helpdesk team, field support team or general IT support team).
  • Serves as an interdepartmental liaison between Information Technology and the various user departments/groups/management served by the Information Technology Department.
  • Provide support and assistance to the Xanterra Incident Response Team as needed and requested.
  • Serves in an on-call capacity for after-hours/non-business hours support if assigned by the Chief Information Officer or Regional Director of IT.
  • Responsible for providing support to other locations within the region at the request of the Regional Director of IT or Corporate IT management.
  • Provide support and assistance to the Xanterra Incident Response Team as needed and requested.
  • Functions and responsibilities may change at any time with or without notice.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3-5+ years of experience in Information Systems and Technology of IT experience
  • 3+ years in Information Systems and Technology project and team leadership role

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology or business administration with a concentration in Information Technology, Hospitality Administration and/or Accounting.Significant work experience can substitute for a bachelor's degree.
  • Background in hospitality-based IT systems
  • Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) certification
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification or Network Plus certification
  • Project Management skills

 

 

Physical Requirements include:

  • Constantly listening, hearing, seeing, standing, walking, using eye/hand coordination, handling, wrist motion.
  • Frequently walk and lift or carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Occasionally sit, handle, reach outward, reach above shoulder, squat or kneel, lift/carry and push or pull up to 100lbs.
  • Will be required to stand long periods of time and to occasionally walk up flights of stairs.
  • Ability to work in extreme temperatures.
