It Director

Description

The position of IT Directoris responsible for managing the IT Department which provides all IT services and support for hundreds of users across multiple offices in the western United States. The position reports to the CIO, and runs the following sections:

• IT Operations - Establishes, maintains and supports the IT infrastructure for users: data center, Windows network (servers, PCs, Active Directory), firewalls, telecommunications, internet, CyberSecurity and Windows application support.
• IT Technology - Manages the Oracle NetSuite ERP platform for; custom web applications and other enterprise applications combined with technical consulting, project management and custom development services.  

The position requires a balance of strong technical skills coupled with superlative communication and project management skills while being comfortable in working with senior business management on strategic initiatives.

This position requires in-office work at the Walnut Creek, CA office. Partial telecommuting is possible after six months.

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

1. Interacting closely with the business executives and managers to continually adjust and refine the NetSuite business processes in order to achieve the goals of the business in a fast and efficient manner without slowing down business expansion.
2. Working closely with the CIO to create and manage the IT annual budget with excellent cost controls.
3. Working closely with the CIO to ensure all IT vendor relationships are strong and well maintained.
4. Working closely with the CIO on all contract negotiations and renewals.
5. Overseeing the development, management and support of all customer websites: LNCurtis.com and CurtisBlueLine.com and public facing EDGE portals.
6. Overseeing the IT and NetSuite Help Desks which provide email and phone support to hundreds of users providing excellent customer service.
7. Overseeing the IT customer support ticketing solution to ensure 98%+ customer satisfaction ratings.
8. Overseeing all IT infrastructure upgrades and enhancements whether hardware, software or cloud based. This includes planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting and optimizing all infrastructure components. 
9. Maintaining a robust CyberSecurity footprint which keeps the IT infrastructure and services safe and operational.
10. Overseeing the bi-annual NetSuite upgrades and the requisite regression testing to ensure smooth, trouble free upgrades.
11. Overseeing the NetSuite system administrative actions, 3rd party updates, audit trails and quality controls to ensure a stable and smooth running NetSuite solution with minimal downtime.
12. Overseeing the NetSuite Knowledge Base to ensure knowledge is captured and easily available to Technology staff.
13. Overseeing the NetSuite blog to ensure NetSuite users are kept well informed about NetSuite changes, enhancements and maintenance.
14. Overseeing the IT Operations technical Knowedge Base to ensure knowledge and how-to-guides are captured and easily available to Operations staff.
15. Managing the full project life-cycle for all IT projects for successfully completing and rolling out IT projects.
16. Managing IT vendor and partner relationships including contracts.

Requirements

Pre-requisite Core Competencies

• Business Analysis - performing business analysis to support new NetSuite ERP enhancements and strategic projects.
• Training & Documentation - writing clear and easy to understand user training guides and delivering excellent user training where needed. 
• Customer Service - providing consistent and excellent IT related customer service.
• Technical Documentation - writing complex implementation designs and specifications.

Skills Required

• Exemplary Communication Skills - vital as the IT Director needs to communicate very well with IT staff, business staff and executives both verbally and written.
• Exemplary Project Management Skills - vital as the success of the IT Dept revolves around excellent project management and getting tasks and projects DONE to good results. Proven track record of rolling out successful IT projects with satisfied users and management.
• Enterprise ERP Skills - given the company runs on NetSuite ERP with significant business processes and details embedded in NetSuite, solid in-depth ERP experience is a vital skill to have in order to keep the company running smoothly and expanding.
• Cloud Based Technology Skills - solid experience working with and managing Cloud based infrastructure resources and services (e.g. NetSuite, Salesforce, Office 365, SharePoint, Box, etc.) 
• Computer Technical Skills - familiarity with Windows infrastructure and desktop technologies in order to oversee and support a wide user community (e.g. Windows Server, Active Directory, VMware, Cisco switches, WANs, Network Monitoring, Desktop Monitoring, Windows 11, Sonicwall Firewalls, Apple iPhones, copiers, etc.)
• Technical Writing - solid experience writing very detailed technical specifications for Development.

Experience Required

• 5+ years' experience managing IT teams.
• 5+ years' IT customer service experience. 
• 5+ years' experience working directly with ERP systems for medium to large companies.
• 5+ years' experience performing excellent ERP related product management.
• 7+ years' experience running successful IT projects.

Experience Preferred

• Netsuite ERP System Administrator certification
• Salesforce Administrator certification
• Business Analyst experience with ERPs at medium to large sized companies
• Microsoft MCSA certification (or similar)
• Cisco CCNA certification
• VMware certification

Education Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or related field.

Physical Requirements
