Job description

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Develop and implement Broadway Youth Center programs in collaboration with stakeholders including BYC participants, HBH staff and management.
  • Manages Broadway Youth Center budget, including monitoring expenditures and revenues to ensure compliance with board-approved and funder approved budgets.
  • Manage grants for Broadway Youth Center including the authoring of new grant applications, ensuring the successful achievement of grant scopes and community grant outcomes to funders through written and/or oral reports.
  • Lead the annual planning process including fiscal year budget development and the establishment of programmatic goals and outcomes.
  • Collaborate with other HBH directors to ensure the provision of high-quality integrated behavioral, social and medical health care across the organization.
  • Organize and convene department and committee meetings.
  • Support the development and implementation of staff onboarding and development training.
  • Manage internal and external partnerships to impact service delivery at Broadway Youth Center.
  • Attends and participates in agency-wide initiatives and committees to improve the provision of services for youth.
  • Participate in the cultivation of community partnerships that lead to donations of financial and in-kind gifts to support the work of the Broadway Youth Center.
  • Manage staffing patterns and structures.
  • Provide supervision and consultation to staff working with youth in crisis, assist staff in making appropriate judgements regarding safety planning and dispositions.
  • Develops, evaluates, interprets, and applies all policies and procedures relating to the Broadway Youth Center for staff and youth participants.
  • Provide administrative and clinical oversight to Broadway Youth Center’s health and youth development services including but not limited to drop-in programing, resource advocacy services, sexual health programing, HIV/STI testing services, educational/career services and therapy services.
  • Provides direct and indirect supervision of Associate Director of Broadway Youth Center, program managers, coordinators and other administrative staff.
  • Resolves grievances and incidents within the department and documents resolutions with Human Resources.
  • Works with HBH quality department to ensure program and clinical quality measures are being met.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

 

Education & Experience

  • Master’s degree in social work or related field.
  • 6-8 years of work experience with youth and other disenfranchised populations.
  • Work in an integrated and/or interdisciplinary care system
  • 3 years of people and program management experience

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse staff and populations
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Ability to lead and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team in a fast paced environment

Preferred

  • Terminal License LCSW, LCPC eligible or related licensure
  • Bilingual-Spanish/English fluency is highly preferred
  • Experience working with at-risk youth, especially youth experiencing homelessness and housing instability, mental health/ substance use concerns and LGBTQ youth.
  • Experience working in HIV/AIDS prevention or other prevention services

Working Conditions:

The Broadway Youth Center is a fast-paced work environment visited by 50+ youth each day. Space is limited and must be shared for most efficient usage. Must be able to work evenings and weekends with irregular schedule.
