Job description

MGAC is seeking a highly collaborative, passionate, and confident communications professional. The Associate Director of Internal Communications will focus on developing effective and engaging Internal Communications to enhance employee engagement. You will have proven success in developing and executing internal communication strategies. This role will report to the Chief Marketing Officer and will work in collaboration with departments across the firm, including the executive team.

Unlock Your Potential: Qualifications for Success

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or other related field
  • 6+ years of experience developing and managing an Internal Communications strategy; A/E/C experience is a plus.
  • Demonstrates strong oral and written communication skills including the ability to clearly transform complex issues into accessible, reader-friendly communications.
  • Have a demonstrated understanding of and competence in communicating with culturally diverse teams, strongly preferred.
  • Excellent communicator with ability to influence and persuade across all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to take initiative to build strong, productive, and trusting relationships with all levels of an organization, and recognizes those relationships at important junctures.
  • Professional and positive approach, self-motivated, team player, dynamic, creative with the ability to work on own initiative and think critically.
  • Must have intellectual curiosity, resilience, resourcefulness, and strong consensus-building skills.
  • Demonstrated creative and critical thinking skills and success in culture-building.
  • Strong business analytics, relationship management, strategy development, project management, problem solving and change management skills.
  • Exercise a high degree of tact and diplomacy; strong ability to handle sensitive information.
  • Experienced and comfortable handling complexity and ambiguity while working across teams and projects to accomplish goals.

What you’ll be doing (and why you’ll love it)

  • Develop and manage a strategic global Internal Communications plan by providing regular and transparent communication about the company’s goals, strategies, and updates to the organization.
  • Ensure all Internal Communications articulate proper content across all mediums and maintain consistent messaging, tone of voice, and visual identity.
  • Work closely with the executive team and other key departments (i.e., Human Resources, Finance, Operations, etc.) on communicating organizational announcements, key issues, and upcoming events.
  • Advise executive team on internal communication best practices.
  • Develop engaging and informative content for various internal communication channels, including intranet (The Mix), employee newsletters, emails, and other multimedia platforms.
  • Lead internal communication efforts during periods of change management by providing timely and transparent communication.
  • Determine the cadence of “all-hands” meetings and potential roadshows for executive team. Create the format by which they will be presented to all employees.
  • Determine how the firm can use technology or different mediums to assist with making these events timely and meaningful to individuals at all levels of the firm.
  • Communicate initiatives that inspire a highly engaged workforce throughout the organization and facilitate two-way communication channels to gather insight from employees.
  • Support and facilitate employee meetings and forums, as needed.
  • Partner with Human Resources to develop and execute internal events that drive company culture.
  • Work closely with internal Philanthropy Committee members to ensure philanthropy initiatives are being implemented.
  • Monitor, measure, and analyze the effectiveness of Internal communication initiatives.
