POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsibleor the management and monitoring of media throughout the 24-hour news cycle,staying current with changing communication strategies, methods andtechnologies particularly with focus on social platforms. Monitor airportactivities for needed response to media inquiries. Manage collateral and mediaoutreach for both Orlando International and Orlando Executive Airports. Help to create strategic, government policymessaging for industry, airport policies, and issues. Work closely with SocialMedia, Marketing and other Authority departments to coordinate consistentmessages, and represent the Authority throughout the community particularlywith transportation and government organizations Will be responsible for assisting in variouscommunity outreach programs and development of statements and positions onchanging focus in the industry and organization. Will assist in information onagency and policy communications coordinating with other coordinatingorganizations on changes, briefings and information as needed that may impactairport operations.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelordegree in a related field and seven (7) years of progressively responsiblepublic relations experience including media interaction in a corporate settingand experience with a large public organization, or an equivalent combinationof education, training and experience. Supervisory experience required.
- Skilled in public speaking.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Skilled in the use of graphics software desirable.
- Knowledgeable of modern audio/visual equipment and technology.
- Skilled in media interactions, including emergency situations.
- Previous media experience in broadcast or print media.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; skilled in interactions with community leaders and peers.
- Valid Florida driver's license.
- Completion of basic NIMS training (100 & 200) required within one year of employment.
- Division of Emergency Management; State Emergency Response Team (SERT) certification required within one year of employment.
