Assistant Project Manager
Coastal Gunite Construction Company, founded in 1983, performs infrastructure rehabilitation work in the Eastern United States. We are hiring an Assistant Project Manager to join our team in the NC Outer Banks area!
Job Summary
Our team is looking for a motivated Assistant Project Manager to assist the Project Manager with the planning and daily execution of the construction project.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Review plans and specifications to thoroughly understand the project scope.
- Attend on site meetings and daily site visits.
- Create schedules, budgets, change order proposals, process submittals, RFIs, and other typical construction administrative items.
- Instruct and guide crews on those projects, repair jobs and maintenance work
- Assist Foreman/Superintendent and Project Manager in mark up and tracking of work completed.
- Attend all required site meetings with the client/owner (schedule, safety, coordination, planning, etc.).
- Record, distribute and track action items resulting from team meetings.
- Mechanical ability for assisting in equipment maintenance a plus.
Physical Demands – Requires Construction Site Presence
- Regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
- Stamina required. Occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
- Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Qualifications
- Highly organized and able to work independently
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong leadership capability with internal drive to mentor and grow internal talent.
- Strong work ethic and problem-solving skills.
- Effective time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- High School diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, or equivalent a plus
- Microsoft Office abilities are a must
- Ability to understand blueprints and specs needed
- Working knowledge of OSHA regulations
- Valid Driver’s License.
Pay commensurate with experience.
