The Assistant Golf Course Superintendent is a part of the team and will work with the crew to meet expectations. The management team constantly teaches and reminds staff of the details we are looking for to help them remember the little things that make golfers enjoy our course.
ABOUT MIZNER COUNTRY CLUB:
Mizner Country Club is a private, residential golf community located conveniently west of the Atlantic Avenue entrance to Florida's Turnpike. The club is recognized as a Platinum Club of America, the social atmosphere is welcoming and fashions friendships that truly make Mizner special.
Mizner’s 18-hole, par 72 private Golf Course, has been completely redesigned by Kipp Schulties, creating a world-class golf links that is as gorgeous to view as it is rewarding to play. The course winds boldly through native foliage and wetlands, flanked by lush greenery which serves as a serene backdrop to the rolling fairways. TifEagleTM greens are guarded by imaginative bunkers, and reflective lakes are tactically placed throughout the course. The game of golf has been made infinitely more exciting at Mizner, while maintaining playability for all levels.

- We have three separate, two-week Golf Course closings for all of our Agricultural Practices (scalping, aerating, verticutting, etc.) where we work 10-12 hours days to complete all the work.

- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Assists in planning and supervising the maintenance of greens, tees and fairways.
- Working knowledges of seeding and maintenance practices for Golf Course turf; planting, cultivating, pruning, and caring for plants, shrubs and trees; characteristics and proper use of various fertilizers and soil conditioners; herbicides and pest control methods and materials; drainage control methods; and irrigation systems, including wells, pumps and automatic controls.
- Supervises the employees and the use of the equipment.
- Instructs equipment operators on the operation and care of mowing and other equipment.
- Supervises pesticide applications and/or operates and calibrates pesticide application equipment.
- Supervises and participates in the operation and maintenance of pumps, and in the maintenance of irrigation and drainage systems.
- Assists in personnel management and evaluation, employee safety and personnel discipline.
- May modify the daily work schedule based on professional interpretation.
- All other duties as assigned by the Golf Course Superintendent, and/or the Director.
- Salary: $65,000 - $75,000, DOE

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
- Certificate, associate's degree, or bachelor's degree preferred, but will consider those with the right attitude, work experience, and professional references.
- 3-5 years of Golf Course experience
- Experience with Tifeagle and Celebration bermudagrass in South Florida at a high-end private club is preferred.

- Must be capable of lifting 50-80 lbs. for 10-30 times repeatedly.
- Employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time (1-2 hours) with ability to stoop, kneel, crawl, climb, balance, walk straight lines, handle or feel objects like tools or controls.
- Must have ability to talk/hear and understand when machine is not operating normally.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and depth perception.
- Employee can expect to work in all aspects of weather; hot, cold and rain.
