This position affords the exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and growing team of researchers in the Antibody Discovery Team within the lab of Dr. Bill Sellers.This individual will be responsible for working with a team in a collaborative effort between the Sellers lab, the Center for the Development of Therapeutics platform (CDoT), as well as academic and pharmaceutical partners to develop and characterize a variety of antibody candidates in various cancer types and models.We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Antibody DiscoveryResearch Associate to join our dedicated team focused on advancing novel bi/multispecific antibodies.
In this exciting role, you will directly contribute to the design, identification of potential therapeutic antibodies, in-vitro characterizations, and selection process of the lead antibody drugs in early discovery stage. You will actively participate in Antibody Discovery projects by executing experiments, supporting laboratory activities, and assisting in data analysis. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a research professional to grow their skills in Antibody Discovery within a collaborative and innovative environment.The successful candidate should have knowledge of concepts and techniques in molecular biology, biochemistry, and assay development for characterization of antibodies.
This individual is expected to work largely independently after training but will be closely mentored by the team scientist(s) and manager. The Broad Institute provides a vibrant research environment with close links to top academic institutions across the Boston Area and provides the potential for your contributions to be used and recognized worldwide.CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES* Design, produce, and characterize engineered proteins, including monoclonal and multispecific antibodies with different modalities.* Perform experiments with a focus on binding, potency assessments, and cell-based viability bioassays.* Perform cell culture including cell line engineering, and validations of oncogene expressions in various cancer lineages.* Maintains and propagates established cell lines, including cryopreserving viable stocks, monitoring for contamination and cell line fidelity.* Perform in vivo efficacy study of antibody candidates using xenograft models.* Perform basic-biology techniques, including molecular cloning, DNA/RNA extraction, PCR/RT-PCR, immunoblotting, protein expressions, ELISA, flow cytometry.* Assists in the development of high-throughput assays to determine antibody dependent cell- mediated cytotoxicity (ADCC), complement dependent cytotoxicity (CDC), and antibody dependent cell-mediated phagocytosis (ADCP).* Prepares, orders, and maintains stocks of necessary reagents, solutions, and supplies.* Documents, compiles, and analyzes experimental data and reports data to team in oral and written reports.* Attends team meetings to share results and contribute to experimental planning.REQUIREMENTSEducation* Bachelor's and/or master's degree in the life sciences.* Prior cell biology, molecular biology, and chemistry coursework.* Prior research experience: > 2 years.Skills and Abilities* Strongly desired: Familiarity with general molecular biology, mammalian tissue culture, protein biochemistry.* Experience with high throughput assay development, antibody production and characterization techniques are a plus.* Exceptional organizational and critical thinking skills, lab notebook practices and attention to detail.* Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with all levels of staff.* Ability to handle large complex experiments and a variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment.* Integrity and honesty in performing experiments and generating research data.All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability or protected veteran status.Check out this video for a look into our community!
