ABOUT OUR COMPANY
We are seeking an Assistant Director of Finance to join our team. A successful candidate will have a genuine passion for the hospitality industry and an entrepreneurial spirit.
Responsibilities
- Must be courteous and gracious, maintaining a professional demeanor at all times
- Establish and maintain good communications and team work with fellow colleagues and other departments within the hotel
- Communicate with Management team regarding P&Ls, budgets, financial forecasts, etc.
- Oversee daily, weekly and monthly bookkeeping/data entry done by staff at various properties
- Ensure deadlines are met by each department in order to deliver Month End in a timely manner
- Assist AP with journal entries as needed
- Process Month End and Year End, adhering to all applicable deadlines
- Prepare Month End and Year End Financial Statements for Review, within set deadlines
- Perform analysis of financial statements and reconciliations on balance sheet
- Prepare and submit all relevant taxes for the hotel
- Assist with the biannual audit
- Actively participate in the management of the PO System and corporate policies and procedures
- Help to establish/correct policies and procedures related to accounting functions, cash control, meeting deadlines, etc.
- Take ownership of all accounting issues brought to your attention by guests
- Maintain an increased awareness of safety issues throughout the hotel
- Participate in scheduled departmental and administrative meetings as requested
- Adhere to all standards of operations, policies and procedures, manuals, memos and verbal instructions
- Be familiar with all safety and emergency procedures including OSHA requirements
- Bachelors degree in finance preferred
- Three (3) years related experience
- Hospitality experience preferred
- Excellent reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English Language
- Excellent organizational skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to multitask
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to understand and work in various accounting systems
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Internet
- Work well under pressure, requires being a team player
