Assistant Director Of Finance

Riggs Washington DC sits on the iconic downtown corner of Penn Quarter's 9th and F Street in a historic building once home to Riggs National Bank. Each of the Hotel's 181 guest rooms offers a playful nod to the building's legacy. Riggs is home to the all-occasion European brasserie-inspired restaurant Café Riggs, as well as Silver Lyan - a subterranean bar from the internationally acclaimed Ryan Chetiyawardana, also known as Mr Lyan.
We are looking for... an experienced and passionate Assistant Director of Finance. Our preferred candidate would have luxury or independent hospitality experience in the Washington DC market.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Assistant Director of Financeposition is based at the Riggs Hotel in Washington D.C and also oversees the Lyle Hotel in Dupont Circle. This position reports directly to the Regional Director of Finance.

General Duties and Responsibilities
• Review tax returns to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations. Prepare the utilities and telephone accruals monthly.
• Monitor records of inventory to control the accuracy of supply distribution.
• Assist the Director of Finance in internal daily audits of cash deposits and transfers.
• Monitor and approve all sales, purchases, salaries and expenses of the hotel.
• Analyze financial data of operations, in order to advise hotel management and to assist in maintaining an efficient operation.
• Prepare, review, and present the Monthly Report of Operations.
• Prepare forecasts and budgets as required (Annual, Revised Annual, Monthly, and/or on Owner's requests).
• Oversee contracts and legal agreements and assist hotel management in maintaining all licenses, permits, insurance and contracts.
Requirements

• Must have prior Asst Director of Finance or Asst Controller Experience
• Self-starting personality with an even disposition
• Able to maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times
• Can communicate well with guests and colleagues
• Must be willing to "pitch in" and help co- workers with their job duties and be a team player
• Ability to analyze large volume of complex financial information from many sources and create reports, forecasts projections for Executives
