Mary Wade Home is seeking an Registered Nurse who wants to be an Assistant Director of Clinical Services (ADNS). The position will assist the Director of Clinical Services in planning, organizing, developing and directing the overall operation of the Skilled Nursing Unit.

Schedule: Full-Time: 40 hours per week

Salary Range: $95,000-100,000 (Commensurate with Experience)

This position requires you to be on call evenings and weekends on a rotating basis

We have 94 beds. Our resident population is primarily seniors with varying levels of acuity.

Qualifications:

  • Previous supervisory experience as an ADNS or RN Supervisor
  • Current Connecticut Registered Nurse License
  • 2 - 3 years’ experience in a nursing home environment.
  • Sensitivity to the needs of the elderly in a healthcare setting.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must have patience, tact in handling difficult residents and staff.
  • Must be comfortable to be responsible for department in the absence of the Director of Clinical Services.
  • Detail oriented
  • Quick to advise Vice President of Mary Wade Healthcare and/or Director of Clinical Services as needed
  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic
  • Foster strong working relationships will all staff
  • Communicate clearly with resident, family and staff

Job Responsibilities:

  • Recommends and assists with the development of organizational structure and standards of performance.
  • Responsible for ensuring Quality Assurance for all resident documentation.
  • Establishes and runs regularly-scheduled quality assurance meetings to ensure consistent standards of care.
  • Plans, organizes, develops, implement, and interprets the programs, goals, objectives, policies and procedures, etc., that are necessary for providing quality care.
  • Supervises nursing staff to ensure continual upgrade and improvement in the nursing care of the residents.
  • Participates in the development and implementation of resident care policies and brings resident care problems requiring changes in policy to the attention of the professional policy advisory groups.
  • Assures that a nursing care plan is established for each patient and that this plan is reviewed and modified as needed.
  • Initiates studies to evaluate effectiveness of nursing services in relation to objectives and costs.
  • Available to work beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays when necessary. Scheduled hours may change to meet facility needs.
  • Effectively communicates to appropriate personnel regarding emergency situations.
  • Assists with the scheduling of daily assignments of duties for nursing staff to assure 24 hour coverage.
  • Audits CNAs and nursing staff to ensure quality patient care.
  • Oversees clinical care of RCH residents. Respond to resident clinical issues and follows through with MD and family.
  • Develops and implements electronic medical records.
  • Supplements RN Staffing on Skilled Care Units as needed.
